Now Mama held my hand as we climbed down the steps of the train. Everywhere people were watching us.

I was afraid, but Mama squeezed my hand three short times – I Love You like she did when we were hiding. Two more short squeezes meant Be Brave. I held her hand tightly and we shuffled along the street and behind the fence.

There was a large grassy square. A row of white buildings was on one side. On the other side houses looked like they were built right into the hill. In the distance a big lake shimmered like a field of tiny stars.
